The Zoncolan by marcusoc

It is a rare mountain that can actually look really steep on the TV however the Zoncolan was that and then some.

If you didn’t get to see it last night make sure you get a dose of the highlights tonight. Cadel fought on manfully (it hurts just watching him sometimes) but Basso was way too good. After tonight’s rest day (night?) the final week sees a mountain TT,  three hilly to very hilly stages and the final 15k TT (along with one flat stage). Might be a bridge too far for Cuddles to get time back over Basso in the hills (he looked molto forte last night and he has the dominant team) but Our Boy might swing some time back from the other contenders. Even though I don’t have anything against the current leader, I don’t feel like seeing another farking Spaniard win a Grand Tour right now (disclaimer: I am one-sixteenth Spanish (truly) so I can say things like that).

Richie Porte going exceptionally well in 2nd and leading the young riders, Lloyd in the climbers’ jersey, Cadel leading points and surely we also have another Aussie leading one or more of the remaining 64 different competitions within the Giro?

Mick Rogers has just won the Tour of California, Jason Day has just won his first tournament on the USPGA (with the almost-obligatory impending-first-tourney-win-attempted-choke by dropping his ball in the water on the 18th) – Aussies going well everywhere – but wait for the World Cup when we get knocked out of contention before the Kiwis do. Our group there is BAD.

As for this blog, we are getting up to and above 100 site views a day – how about someone leave a comment about anything – personal criticisms always welcome. We wouldn’t mind starting some constructive (or otherwise) conversation?

Stu the Kiwicyclist and I are getting lonely.
